ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE GRAIN YIELD AND GRAIN PROTEIN IN CEREALS AND LEGUMES (review)

The current state of researches about relationships between a grain yield and concentration in a grain of protein was considered. The hypothesis about the leading role of the genetic program of a species in a determination of negative relationships between a yield and content in grain of protein, and also the selection, economical and ecological aspects of this problem are discussed. Genetic approaches to improvement nitrogen use efficiency by cultivated plants are considered.
